What is Night Twitch?
Night Twitch is a Stage Labs project by Oslo City Ballet—a creative development program that brings together dancers from different backgrounds to train, collaborate, and create alongside professional artists.
We believe great dance happens when artists step outside their comfort zones. By breaking down stylistic barriers and bringing dance into public spaces, Night Twitch creates new connections between dancers, audiences, and the city itself.
Over two workshop weekends, in collaboration with BÃ¥rdar danseinstitutt, participants explore multiple dance styles, develop original choreography, and help create a large-scale, outdoor street performance that transforms Oslo for one unforgettable night.
Night Twitch isn't just something you watch—it's something you become a part of.
- At Night Twitch, everyone takes every class.
- A ballet dancer learns alongside a hip hop dancer.
- A jazz dancer explores contemporary.
- A contemporary dancer discovers ballet.
- Everyone steps outside their comfort zone, learning from one another rather than staying within their own style.
- Because artistic growth happens when we challenge ourselves—and when different dance communities come together.
- No separate groups.
- Just dancers learning, creating, and inspiring one another.

A long-standing member of the Subsdans community, Leon has developed his practice through battles, performance and freestyle, as well as theatre, television, music videos and street-dance productions. His work is rooted in breaking, musicality and individuality, with a deep connection to Oslo's street-dance community.
Nanette Haugan — Jazz
